Equine Healing, Rehabilitation & Conditioning Center
| |
Our goal at Premier Equine is to provide the rehabilitation needed to heal the horse as safely as possible while giving the up most in care to the animal. With most of the rehabilitation recommendations coming from veterinarians, we will follow the vets course to rehab the horse. For those clients who choose, their horse's rehabilitation can be monitored regularly by our attending veterinarian. All of the rehabilitation occurs in the main barn that consists of an office, a feed room, 20 stalls and the work area. The work area has two sets of equine stocks, the ECB hydrotherapy spa, the intermittent hypoxic training machine, a heated wash rack, and the entrance to the nearby covered free flow equiciser.

Equine Health & Safety
| |
At Premier Equine, our goal is to put the horse's health and safety first. Before a horse comes into the center, the stall will be sanitized completely. The feeder, the water, the bedding, and the stall will all be cleaned and sanitized to prevent passing any disease or fungus between horses. Each stall will be provided with deep bedding, around 7-10 inches, for comfort and safety. Premier Equine also prefers that all horses are up to date on their immunization shots and that the horse is insured. If a horse needs to have it's shots updated, our vet will be happy to administer them.

Equine Intermittent Hypoxic Training
Equine Intermittent Hypoxic Training is a completely safe and proven method that is based after altitude training done by Olympic athletes and long distance endurance runners. Our machine is made by a company that is the leader in human hypoxic training and they have developed an equine version. The machine regulates the oxygen intake into the horses respiratory system. The benefits that the horse receives after treatment is amazing and can not be achieved through other forms of training. Some of the benefits are improved stamina and endurance, reduced lactic acid, a boosted immune system, increased energy/fitness levels and increased recovery time after performance. This machine helps to clear up and heal the respiratory system of the horse and has even cured some EIPH horses(known as "bleeders"). Please visit our Hypoxic Training page for more information.

Covered Free Flow Equiciser
Our free flow exerciser is a huge part of our rehabilitation and conditioning process. The free flow exerciser is a safer, more advanced version of a hot walker. The horse is loaded into his section of our four horse exerciser and then receives a controlled exercise routine. The horse is able to move naturally, not restricted like on a hot walker. The exerciser can walk, trot, or lope the horse and has a timer for duration of the exercise. This is a great method to rehab a horse that is coming off of an injury. Our exerciser is covered for year round use.
